Beacon House is in a unique position standing 1000 feet above sea-level with magnificent views over open countryside; Peter's Stone and Cressbrook and Tansley Dale conservation area with its magnificent displays of purple orchids in May-time.
There are many walks from the door on to the conservation area with its wild flowers and small group of ponies, if you walk
through Cressbrook Dale it leads you to Monsal Dale, Monsal Head and the Monsal Trail where you can hire mountain bikes
to go along the trail.
